Riding in Taichung
To Support a Healthy Living Environment without producing unnecessary garbage, TBW has decided not to put any signs on the recommended cycling routes this year( 2012). We suggest you download the maps and save it on your GPS device as you need.
DISCLAIMER: The bicycle routes are simply recommended routes for people to enjoy the beauty of Taichung City and its surrounding areas. Under no circumstances do Taichung City Government accept any responsibility for an injury accident that may occur to a rider. Riders use the routes entirely at their own risk. We highly recommend all riders to wear helmets when cycling on the bicycle route exercise caution at all times in order to enjoy the outstanding beauty of the routes.
For those of you who can’t bear the thought of not riding your bike for a week, we will have five suggesting routes that will allow you to really stretch your legs, including, killer hill and dog hill. From Down Town you can be in the jungle in 15 minutes and all the routes will be between 1.5 -2.5 hours. These routes are only 15 mins away from downtown Taichung, ideally designed for road bikes on superb roads with virtually no traffic.
The only traffic you will encounter is in the first 5km riding out from the city. Although the event is held in November, it is highly recommended you bring sunscreen, carry plenty of water and don't ride alone. There are five routes which all connect to each other and the map is available for download from the website.

Even though the event is held in November, the weather still can be hot and humid, most recommended riding time would be in the early morning before all the traffic starts.
